Underdark is a five piece band from Nottingham, UK who formed in 2015, from the looks of things. Underdark play an ominously heavy, atmospheric, and vicious as fuck style of music that incorporates elements of post metal, post hardcore, doom, shoegaze, and screamo within their sound. Musically, Underdark can be loosely compared to bands such as Amber, Amen Ra, Lightbearer, early Deafheaven, Alter Of Plagues, and other like-minded bands. Since forming in 2015, Underdark have released a three song EP titled Mourning Cloak in June of 2016, a split EP with Antre in March of 2018, and a two song EP titled Plainsong/With Bruised And Bloodied Feet in October of 2020. Our Bodies Burned Bright On Re-Entry is the band's debut full-length LP, which was released via Through Love, Surviving Sounds, and Tridroid records on July 30th, 2021. On Our Bodies Burned Bright On Re-Entry, Underdark offer up five tracks of ominously heavy, atmospheric, and brutal as fuck sounding post metal, post hardcore, doom, black metal, screamo, and shoegaze. Overall, Our Bodies Burned Bright On Re-Entry makes for an awesome listen and definitely should not be missed. Highly recommended! Enjoy!
