Closet Witch is a four piece band from Keokuk, Burlington, and Muscatine, Iowa who formed in 2014. Closet Witch play a killer style of music that incorporates elements of hardcore, punk, screamo, grindcore, and powerviolence within their sound. Musically, Closet Witch can be loosely compared to bands such as Cloud Rat, Weak Wrists, Auerole Of Ash, Closet Burner, Amygdala, Saligia, and other like-minded bands. Since forming in 2014, Closet Witch have released a self-titled demo in November of 2014, a five song EP titled Ergot in March of 2015, a six song EP titled Black Salt in October of 2015, a split with National Hero in December of 2015, a split with Euth in August of 2016, a digital EP titled Cokburner in April of 2017, a self-titled LP in June of 2018, a 4-Way split with Racetraitor, Neckbeard Deathcamp, and H,ggathorn in April of 2020, and a 44 track discography LP in April of 2020. Mellification is the band's latest EP, which was released on August 13th, 2021. On Mellification, Closet Witch offer up 2 new tracks of chaotic, volatile, and brutal as fuck sounding hardcore, punk, screamo, grindcore, and powerviolence. Overall, Mellification makes for an awesome listen and definitely should not be missed. Highly recommended! Enjoy!
