Gilded Age is a four piece band from Portland, Oregon who formed in 2017. Gilded Age play a vicious and brutal as fuck style of music that incorporates elements of hardcore, punk, screamo, and powerviolence within their style. Musically, Gilded Age can be loosely compared to bands such as Oxidant, Water Torture, Stimulant, and other like-minded bands. Since forming in 2017, Gilded Age have released a six song self-titled EP in January of 2018 and a three song EP titled Ghost Voices in January of 2019. Voices is the band's latest EP, which was released via Tomb Tree Tapes on May 27th, 2021. The Impetus of Voices surfaced as a result of Christy Blassey Ford coming forward about US Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulting her in 2018. Voices airs the frustrations of many women-identifying/non-binary/BIPOC people as a result of him being nominated to the US Supreme Court despite there allegations. On Voices, Gilded Age offer up ten tracks of vicious, scathing, and brutal as fuck sounding hardcore, punk, screamo, and powerviolence. Overall, Voices makes for an amazing listen and definitely should not be missed. Highly recommended! Enjoy!
