drumcorps - For Everything

drumcorps.co - Facebook - Instagram - YouTube - Bluesky

I don't know what the fuck this is, But I like it. Glitchy, messed up, electronica / Hardcore from Amsterdam, Netherlands. This is a good way to kick off Halloween if you ask me.

Constrict - Kadavergehorsam

More German Chaos. From their bio: Constrict is a grindcore band from Potsdam, Germany, formed in 2015. Fusing fast, aggressive blasts with death metal elements, their sound combines raw speed with relentless heaviness. After several DIY releases - including Ultima Ratio, Saturation, and Devourer - they now return with Kadavergehorsam, their most furious and focused EP to date.

breathe//die - gestalt

    FROM: Berlin, Germany
    GENRE: Powerviolence, Hardcore, Death Metal

I've said it 1,000 times and I'll say it again,
every hardcore band from Germany rules

Some Early Survey Results For You

Me again. I wanted to say thanks to everyone who has voted in the poll from my previous post, It really helps a lot. One thing I was not expecting was the general dislike of Spotify. I should have known. And it's good to know that no one seems to want me to stop posting entirely lol. And thanks for all the amazing comments on the post as well. I think you guys are pretty cool too. I figured I would post some early survey result for those that are curious. I always find these kind of web statistics fascinating (click to enlarge).

State Of The Blog Survey

So, as I'm getting back into a regular posting schedule, I have been trying to think of the best way to move forward, and I need your help. I don't think I can go back to the old days of writing out a big review for a release. For one, there are just too many good releases that I'd like to share and if I wanted to write a well researched blog post on each one, I'd have to quit my job (Again, anyone who does want to join in and post on the main page is welcome to, jet let me know). I know for a while now I've just been doing something like posting a pic, sharing some details about the band/release and embedding a Bandcamp player. And as easy as that sounds, it can still get to be too much sometimes (for me at least). So I have been contemplating stripping posting WAY down. It may not be as exciting and pretty, but I am wondering if it will save my sanity and make it easier to keep posting for many years. I'm talking like just posting a Bandcamp or Spotify player (and probably the genre, I think that's pretty important). A game developer I like, Hideo Kojima, just posts cool things on his Instagram, with no captions or context. Basically if you are into his games and aesthetic, you can trust you will like the stuff he posts about. If he likes something, he just posts it, and I think there's something cool about that. But maybe you guys think that's just a bit too lazy for a music blog. Anyway, I've created a short survey below to help me come to some kind of decision, I'd appreciate it if you could answer a few questions for me, but of course, don't feel obligated to. Thanks.

August 2025 round up

This Pains EP is fucking ridiculous ↓

July 2025 round up

June 2025 round up

Hey all, really sorry for my absence in the past few months. There were too many shows happening this summer here (not complaining) and I think I was just getting burned out on music in general. Not to mention the crushing existential dread of daily life rearing it's ugly head. But, I am feeling better now and have been itching to get back to posting in some way or another. I'm glad to see things are still chugging along here, thanks to all in the chat for still hanging out, especially Kogi & Cockroach doing the Lord's work in the link chat.

For the next couple of days, my thoughts were to post some monthly round-ups of things of interest that I have found from June-September. Some are free, some are paid, and to be honest, I think I'm going to start straying away from only posting free Bandcamp releases here. I don't post download links anymore in the main posts just to keep the blog a little safer from "the man", and between the chat here, Soulseek and streaming services, things are way more easily attained now. So, if I like something, from now on I'm going to just post it, free or not. We'll see how it goes.

Oh, and one more thing, this is driving me crazy. Sometime before I went to the Toronto fest in June, someone in chat gave a great recommendation, for me specifically, in the chat. I believe it was a solo project, outside the US, if I recall the ID photo on Bandcamp was like a black/white picture of a dude in a hoodie? They had a new LP come out and it was great. Crusty, dark and full of Death N Roll just like I like. But, chat only goes back so far, and I simply can't find it on Bandcamp. I assume it would have been somewhere around April-May-June? But I have no idea at this point. Not sure if the guy/girl is still around or if they remember, but please comment if you do. But without further ado...
