Patent is a four piece band from Montreal, Quebec who formed in 2016, from the looks of things. Patent play a chaotic and volatile style music that incorporates elements of hardcore, punk, grindcore, and noisecore within their sound. Musically, Patent can be loosely compared to bands such as Cynarae, Pig Destroyer, Napalm Death, Fulgora, and other like-minded bands. Since forming in 2016, Patent has released a self-titled EP in June of 2016, a seven song EP titled Crimes in October of 2017, and a split with Deathnap in September of 2018. Crimes+Untitled is the band's latest LP, which was released via Les disques Rabat-joie records on July 31st. On Crimes+Untitled, Patent offer up thirteen tracks of sludgy hardcore, punk, grindcore, and noisecore, which compiles the band's self-titled and Crimes EPs. Overall, Crimes+Untitled will definitely appeal to fans of modern sludgy hardcore/grindcore. Highly recommended! Enjoy!
