Desert Roach is a one piece project of Johnathon Zawadzki from Staten Island, NY who started playing music under the moniker of Desert Roach in early 2017, from the looks of things. Desert Roach play a really interesting mix of music that incorporates elements of industrial, death rock, and cold wave within their sound. Musically, Desert Roach can be loosely compared to bands such as Cold Cave, Ukiah Drag, Neon Blud, Night Sins, and other like-minded bands. Since beginning in 2017, Desert Roach has released a ten song LP titled Cholla in September of 2017, a digital single titled This Isn't Natural in April of 2020, and a second digital single titled Hearts Wide Open in APril of 2020. Drown is Desert Roach's second full-length LP, which was released on July 10th, 2020. On Drown, Desert Roach offer up twelve tracks of dark, moody, and gloomy sounding industrial, death rock, and cold wave. Overall, Drown makes for an awesome listen and definitely should not be missed. Highly recommended! Enjoy!
