(U.S.) There Were Wires-Somnambulists LP (2021)

Country: USA
Genre: Post Hardcore, Metal, Sludge, Noise Rock
Label: Tor Johnson/Iodine Records
Tracks: 8
Length: 33.50'

There Were Wires were a band from Boston, MA who existed from 1999-2003.  There Were Wires played a dark, ugly, and brutal as fuck style of music that incorporates elements of post hardcore, metal, sludge, and noise rock within their sound.  Musically, There Were Wires could be said to be influenced by bands such as Neurosis, Converge, Deadguy. Unbroken, PG. 99, Majority Rule, American Nightmare, and other like-minded bands.  Somnambulists is the band's only LP, which was originally released back in 2003 on Iodine records.  There Were Wires broke up shortly after, leaving fans highly disappointed and wanting more.  On Somnambulists, There Were Wires offer up eight tracks of progressive and forward thinking post hardcore, metal, sludge, and noise rock.  Overall, Somnambulists makes for an amazing listen and definitely should not be missed.  Highly recommended.  Members of There Were Wires went on to play in Doomriders and Disappearer.  Somnambulists was remastered and re-issued via Tor Johnson records on April 16th, 2021.  Seriously, I can't begin to describe how good this album is!
