Banal is a four piece band from Montreal, Quebec who formed in 2014. Banal play a vicious and chaotic as fuck style of music that incorporates elements of hardcore, punk, grindcore, and powerviolence within their sound. Musically, Banal can be loosely compared to bands such as Left For Dead, The Swarm, Infest, and Chokehold. Since forming in 2014, Banal have released a self-titled demo in April of 2016. Contra is the band's latest EP, which was released on cassette via Désordre Ordonn and GBS records on July 15th, 2017. On Contra, Banal offer up sixteen tracks of volatile and brutal as fuck sounding hardcore, punk, grindcore, and powerviolence. Overall, Contra makes for an amazing listen and definitely should not be missed. Highly recommended! Enjoy!
