Axis is a five piece band from St. Petersburg/Orlando, Florida who formed in early 2011, from the looks of things. Axis play a killer style of music that mixes equal parts late 90's metallic hardcore with sludge and noise rock tinged metallic hardcore. Musically, Axis can be said to be influenced by bands such as Turmoil, Deadguy, Bloodlet, Engineer, Achilles, and Botch. Since their inception in 2011, Axis have released a four song EP titled Rites Of Passage in January of 2011, a split 7" with Weight Of The World in September 0f 2011, a split 7" with Self Defense Family in November of 2013, a summer tour cassette in June of 2014, a ten song LP titled Show Your Greed in and a collaboration LP with Seraph The Light in December of 2016. Shift is Axis' latest full-length LP, which was released via Good Fight Music on November 10th, 2017. On Shift, Axis offer up twelve tracks of punishing and brutal as fuck sounding hardcore, punk, sludge, and noise rock. Overall, Shift is an amazing album and should not be missed. Highly recommended!
