Cognitive is a five piece band from New Jersey who formed in 2011. Cognitive play a killer style of music that incorporates elements of black metal, death metal, and grindcore within their sound. Musically, Cognitive can be loosely compared to bands such as Entombed, Cannibal Corpse, Brutal Truth, Mule Skinner, and other like-minded bands. Since forming in 2011, Cognitive have released a self-titled LP in April of 2014 and a five song EP titled The Horrid Swarm in November of 2014. Matricide is Cognitive's latest LP, which was released via Unique Leader records on October 26th, 2018. On Matricide, Cognitive offer up ten tracks of vicious and brutal as fuck sounding black metal, death metal, and grindcore. Overall, Matricide makes for an awesome listen and definitely should not be missed. Highly recommended! Enjoy!
