Gulfer is a four piece band from Montreal, Quebec, Canada who formed in December of 2011.  Gulfer play an anthemic, energetic, slightly off-kilter, and catchy as hell sounding style of music that incorporates elements of punk, emo, indie rock, and math rock within their sound.  Musically, Gulfer can be loosely compared to bands such as Native, Snowing, Street Smart Cyclist, Foxing, Algernon Cadwallader, and other like-minded bands.  Since forming in 2011, Gulfer have released a split EP with Fago Sepia in August of 2012, a five song EP titled Transcendals in February of 2013, two with Lions, My First Castle,  Odd Dates, Kit Fisto, Names, and Hit Home in December of 2013, and a split with Del Paxton in April of 2015.  What Gives is the band's debut full-length LP, which was released via Big Scary Monsters and Texas Is Funny records on August 19th 2016.  On What Gives, Gulfer offer up seven tracks of anthemic, energetic, slightly off-kilter, and catchy as hellpunk, emo, indie rock, and math rock.  Overall, What Gives makes for a great listen and should not be missed.  Highly recommended!  Enjoy!
