The Rodeo Idiot Engine is a five piece band from Bayonne, France who formed in  January of 2009.  The Rodeo Idiot Engine play an over the top, brutal as fuck sounding style of music that incorporates elements of post hardcore, metallic hardcore, punk, grindcore, and noise rock within their sound.  The Rodeo Idiot Engine can be said to be influenced by bands such as Converge, Botch, The Dillinger Escape Plan, and Playing Enemy.  Since their inception in 2009, The Rodeo Idiot Engine have released a six song EP titled The First Fall in May of 2010, an eleven song LP titled Fools Will Crush The Crown in July of 2011, and an eleven song LP titled Consequences in September of 2013.  Malaise is The Rodeo Idiot Engine's latest full-length LP, which was released via Throatruiner records on November 23rd, 2015.  On their latest full-length LP, The Rodeo Idiot Engine offer up nine new tracks of volatile and chaotic as fuck sounding post hardcore, hardcore, punk, grindcore, and noise rock.  Overall, Malaise is an amazing LP and should not be missed.  Highly recommended!  Enjoy!

Here's a killer split featuring new tracks from Laval France based Birds In Row and Laval France based WAITC.  I'm being lazy here because most of you should be well familiar with Birds In Row at this point.  Birds In Row offer up three new tracks of their always on point metallic hardcore.  My main emphasis will be on WAITC.  WAITC is a three piece hardcore band from Laval, France who formed in 2012.  Formerly called We Are Not In The Country, WAITC offer up three three tracks of blackened, metallic, and over the top hardcore that's an absolute must listen for fans of Direwolves, Raein, La Quiete, and other like-minded bands.  The Birds In Row/WAITC split will be released via Throatruiner records on October 30th, 2015.  Overall, this is a killer split that should not be missed.  Highly recommended!  Enjoy!

Direwolves is a five piece band from Lorient, France who formed in 2011.  Direwolves play a dark, metallic, crusty, and sludge tinged style of modern hardcore.  Musically, Direwolves can be loosely compared to bands such as Birds In Row, Death Mecedes, Burning Bright, No Omega, The Tidal Sleep, and other like-minded bands.  Since their inception in 2011, Direwolves have released a two song demo titled MMXI in October of 2011 and a six song 12" titled Me From Myself, To Banish on October 15th of 2012.  Aegri Somnia is the band's latest eleven song LP, which was released via Throatruiner records on March 31st, of 2014.  On Aegri Somnia, Direwolves offer up eleven tracks of blackened, metallic, yet slightly melodic modern hardcore that totally destroys beyond belief.  Overall Aegri Somnia kicks ass beyond belief.  Highly recommended!  Enjoy!

Cowards are a four piece band from Paris, France who formed in 2012.  Cowards play a caustic, volatile, and brutal as fuck sounding style of modern metallic hardcore.  Musically, Cowards can be said to be influenced by bands such as Converge, Gaza, Trapp Them, and Pariso.  Since their inception in 2012, Cowards have released a six song 12" titled Shooting Blanks And Pills in June of 2012, and a five song EP titled Hoarder in September of 2013.  Rise To Infamy is the band's latest ten song LP, which was released via Throatruiner records on February 5th, 2015.  On Rise To Infamy, Cowards offer up ten tracks of caustic, chaotic, and brutal as fuck sounding music that blurs the lines between hardcore, punk, crust, sludge, and black metal.  Overall, Rise To Infamy is a stellar album and Cowards is an absolute must listen for fans of Seizures, Trap Them, and Anion.  Highly recommended!  Enjoy!

Death Engine-Mud LP (2015)

Death Engine is a four piece band from Lorient, France who formed in May of 2012.  Death Engine play an ambitious and forward thinking style of music that borrows from several sub genres of underground music.  Death Engine's style of forward-thinking music draws inspiration from a variety of sources that include post hardcore, sludge, post metal, and noise rock.  Musically, Death Engine can be said to be influenced by bands such as Eyehategod, Buzzoven, Botch, Breather Resist, Celeste, and Neurosis.  With that being said, these influences should only be used as a starting point of reference when describing Death Engine's sound because their style is truly unique and impossible to ignore.  Something else that really grabs my attention with Death Engine's latest album is that there is a layered nuance to the music that makes the band heavy as fuck and yet somehow beautiful.  There's even a hint of shoegaze thrown in with some of these songs, which only confounds me even more.  The seven tracks found on Mud make for a brutal and ambtious as fuck listen that won't be leaving your stereo any time soon.  Overall, Mud makes for an amazing listen and Death Engine is an absolute must listen for fans of Eyehategood, Neurosis, Celeste, and Amen Ra.  Highly recommended!  Enjoy!  Mud was released via Throatruiner records on March 2nd, 2015.
