Idylls is a Brisbane, Australia based band who formed in 2010, from the looks of things. Idylls play a dark, unsettling, and volatile style of music that incorporates elements of post punk, punk, and noise rock within their sound. Musically, Idylls can be said to be influenced by bands such as Brain Bombs, The Jesus Lizard, and late 80's-90's AmRep style noise rock bands. Since forming in 2010, Idylls have released a three song EP titled Amps For God/Plague Hell in September of 2011, a ten song LP titled Farewell All Joy in May of 2012, a split with Palisades in July of 2013, a four song EP titled Indian Circle in May of 2013, a ten song LP titled Prayer For Terrene in March of 2014, and a digital single titled Maslows Dogs in May of 2017. The Barn is the band's latest full-length LP, which was released via Holy ROar records on September 29th, 2017. On The Barn, Idylls offer up nine tracks of unsettling and noise damaged punk and post punk. Overall, The Barn makes for a killer listen and definitely should not be missed. Highly recommended!
