Splitter - de|con|struct

From: Nuremberg, Germany
Genre: Dark Hardcore, Powerviolence, Crust
Released: March 13, 2021
Length: 24m 41s    Tracks: 15

Splitter is a 4-piece that has been around since 2017 and this is their first full length release. They are German so of course they have amazingly dark & crusty production. The album is broken up my moody instrumentals which makes for an interesting listen. Overall, it's super dark and angry, I really like this.

Vipers - Self Titled

From: Melbourne, Australia
Genre: Chaotic Hardcore, Metalcore
Released: March 7, 2021
Length: 5m 59s
Tracks: 3

Here's the first release from Vipers hailing from Australia. That's really about all I know about this band. It's only 3 songs but it's mastered by the famous Brad Boatright so you know it's going to sound good. If you are a fan of Every Time I Die, you will enjoy Vipers.

Mi Amore - Discography (2002-2007) [REPOST]

GENRE: Punk Rock N' Roll, Hardcore
FFO: Cursed, Entombed, The Hellacopters, Kill Cheerleader
D/L "Crawlin' Kingsnake"
D/L "The Lamb"
D/L "The Lion"

*Here's another repost from 2014. I figure if I am going to repost Our Father, I should repost Mi Amore*

In a recent comment, someone suggested I do a Mi Amore post, so here it is. I think with all the amazing hardcore music being pumped out these days, it's easy to forget where it all came from. A ton of it came from Canada. I mean a TON. One of those cornerstone bands, in my personal opinion, is Mi Amore. They existed in the early-to-late 2000's alongside such bands as Cursed, Black Ships and Cobra Noir. If anti-Christian overtones laid out over top of riff after gloriously dark riff is your kind of thing, then you need to be listening to Mi Amore. They took the baton from Entombed and perfected the whole Death N' Roll movement. This is mid-tempo Black Sabbath-worship at it's finest. Their entire output consists of 2 LP's (Crawlin' Kingsnake 2002 & The Lamb 2005) and 1 EP (The Lion 2007).

Our Father (2006-2009) [REPOST]

GENRE: Punk, Hardcore, Rock N' Roll, Sludge
FFO: Burning Love, Cursed, Black Ships
* Repost request from 2014! *

Our Father was from Toronto and existed at the same time as Cursed. In 2006, Our Father started as a side project with Cursed vocalist Chris Colohan. Eventually Cursed imploded so it made sense to continue this side project full time under the name of Burning Love. But before that, they put out 3 releases, one 7" and two CD-R's. I've never found the songs from their "Frost Giant" CD-R, so if you have that, PLEASE let us know!

Barren - Demo 2021

From: Belgium
Genre: Grindcore, Crust, D-Beat
Released: March 5, 2021
Length: 5m 14s
Tracks: 3

This is Barren's first release but holy shit I want more right now. They describe themselves as "Furious Chainsaw Grind" and that seems pretty accurate. This is only 3 songs but it fucking rips. Featuring (ex) members of Aborted, Agathocles, Suppository, Emeth, Everyone Dies Alone & Human Vivisectio.

Weak Ties - Find A Way

From: Bielefeld, Germany
Genre: Hardcore Punk, Powerviolence, Fastcore
Released: March 12, 2021
Length: 24m 12s
Tracks:  16

I don't know if this makes any sense, but I really like this band because it sounds like an 80's California punk band like Angry Samoans or Circle Jerks time traveled to modern day Germany to make a hardcore record. Super catchy with great production.
