Sin Motivo is a Fort Worth, Texas based band who formed in January of 2013, by the looks of things.  Sin Motivo features members of Wiccans, so going on that alone, you know you're in for something really special even before you give Sin Motivo al listen.  Sin Motivo play a dark, nihilistic, and propulsive style of noise damaged hardcore.  Musically, Sin Motivo can be loosely compared to bands such as Hoax, Gay Kiss, and Brown Sugar.  I hate using the term "Mysterious Guy" when describing this style of hardcore, but there's something about these dudes that I can't quite describe, so I guess I'll go the easy route and use that term because I'm being lazy. El Desierto is Sin Motivo's latest six song LP, which was released via Erste Theke Tontraeger records and Not Normal Tapes on July 1st, 2015.  On their debut 12", Sin Motivo offer up six killer tracks of blown-out, dirty, and noise damaged hardcore.  Overall, El Desierto is a killer LP and should not be missed.  Highly recommended!  Enjoy!

Tentacles are a four piece band from San Antonio, Texas who formed in 2006.  Tentacles play a killer style of music that incorporates elements of hardcore, punk, screamo, emoviolence, and grindcore within their sound.  Musically, Tentacles can be loosely compared to bands such as Republic Of Dreams, Totem Skin, Resurrectionists, and other like-minded bands.  Since their inception in 2006, Tentacles have released a self-titled demo cassette, a six song EP titled This Is Where We Are. We Started Where We are in May of 2008, a five song EP titled Isolation Is A Gift in June of 2010, and a and a six song EP titled Cogita Mori in August of 2013.  Ambivalence is the band's latest seven song LP, which will be released later this summer via Dead Tank, IFB, Zegema Beach, React With Protest, and Deadwood records.  On their latest LP, Tentacles offer up seven new tracks of brutal and scathing as fuck sounding hardcore, punk, screamo, emoviolence, and grindcore.  Overall, Ambivalence is an amazing album that should not be missed.  Highly recommended!  Enjoy!

Marais are a Cologne, Germany based hardcore, punk, and screamo band who formed in early 2013 by the looks of things.  Marais play a brutal and chaotic style of hardcore, punk, and screamo that will appeal to fans of bands such as Daitro, La Quiete, Violent Breakfast and other like-minded bands.  On their side of the split, Marais offer up five tracks of volatile and chaotic hardcore punk, and screamo.  The second band of the split is Auszenseiter is a four piece band from Northwestern Germany who formed in late 2012, from the looks of things.  Auszenseiter play a killer style of metallic hardcore, punk, and screamo that can be said to be influenced by bands such as Funeral Diner, Yage, Loma Prieta, and Black Kites.  On their side of the split, Auszenseiter offer up four tracks of brutal sounding metallic hardcore, punk, and screamo.  Overall, this is a killer split LP and bother bands offer up killer material for the split.  Highly recommended!  Enjoy!  This album was released via i.Corrupt records on July 1st, 2015.

Holy shit.  Where did this band come from?  I was surfing a few blogs yesterday and came across Earthmother.  Earthmother are a five piece band from South Florida who formed in 2013.  Earthmother play a really interesting style of music that gives nods to various styles of underground music that includes hardcore, punk, black metal, shoegaze, and atmospheric post metal.  At first listen, I thought I was in for a band that was heavily influenced by bands such as Young And In The Way or Deafheaven, but upon listening further, I realized that I couldn't be more wrong.  While these influences are apparent, Earthmother takes things a step further and add shoegaze and atmospheric post metal influences that add an additional layer of complexity to the band's already progressive style.  On paper, I wouldn't think that this combination of sounds and styles would work, but Earthmother manage to pull this off somehow.  This is the band's debut full-length LP, which was released digitally on June 23rd, 2015.  On their self-titled full-length debut, Earthmother offer up eight killer songs that blur the lines between hardcore, punk, black metal, shoegaze, and atmospheric post metal.  Overall, this is a killer LP and should not be missed.  Highly recommended!  Enjoy!

No Trust is a two piece death metal, doom, and sludge band from the Bay Area of California who formed in 2010.  No Trust is comprised of brothers Zach Guzman and Ben Guzman.  No Trust play a really aggressive and savage style of progressive leaning death metal, doom, and sludge that can bes aidt o be influenced by bands such as Eyehategod, Neurosis, Gehenna, and other like-minded bands.  since their inception in 2010, No Trust have released a three song demo in June of 2012 and a ten song LP titled Unfound in November of 2013.  The Cycle is the band's latest full-length LP, which was released digitally on June 30th, 2015.  On their latest LP, No Trust offer up seven tracks of brutal as fuck and oppressive sounding death metal, doom, and sludge that's an absolute must listen for fans of Sannhet, Northless, and Mutilation Rites.  Overall, The Cycle is a killer LP and should not be missed.  Highly recommended!  Enjoy!

Tempest-Passages 12" (2012)

Press Note: Tempest is from Vancouver, BC. This band has been around for some time, aurally punishing people through the 2005 advent of too many fucking amps. But contrary to most, they are good. They play a heavy and chaotic hardcore that Roger still claims “doesn’t sound German,” but after this last summer where they had a rousingly successful European tour, it would suggest i was correct. If you are into depressed and blackened European hardcore with a nice metal patina, then this is for you my ridiculous friend. Prepare to traverse a loud atmospheric and elemental tonality, fueled by a lot of things including a love of throwing up next to the van (Steve) on the 2010 Ghostlimb/Tempest Canadian tour. 

*I don't think this band is active any longer, but felt like throwing this review up on this site because Tempest were amazing.  The band's discography includes their Passages LP, which was released via Vitriol and React With Protest records in June of 2012 as well as a two song 7" titled Solace, which was released via Vitriol records in April of 2012.  Overall, Tempest offer up seven tracks of phenomenal hardcore, punk, crust, and metal.  Passages is an amazing album that still kicks ass to this day.  Enjoy!

Old Wounds is a four piece band from New Jersey who formed in 2010.  Old Wounds play a scathing, blackened, and metallic sounding style of music that incorporates elements of hardcore, punk, and metal within their sound.  Musically, Old Wounds can be said to be influenced by other New Jersey bands such as Nora, The Banner, and Turmoil.  Since their inception, Old Wounds have released a three song 7" titled Sleeper in 2010, a five song EP titled Terror Eyes in 2011, a self-titled three song EP in 2012, a two song cassette titled II in 2012, a twelve song LP titled From Where We Come Is Where We'll Rest via Glory Kid Ltd. records in February of 2013, a split 7" with Trenchfoot in August of 2013, and a split 7" with The Banner in May of 2015.  The Suffering Spirit is Old Wounds' latest full-length LP, which was released via Good Fight Music on June 29th 2015.  On their latest LP, Old Wounds offer up eleven tracks of volatile and chaotic as fuck sounding hardcore, punk, and metal that's an absolute must listen for fans of Seizures, Reproacher, Divider, and Enabler.  Overall, I was really looking forward to hearing this The Suffering Spirit, and let's just say that Old Wounds have totally blown my mind with their latest LP.  Highly recommended!  Enjoy!
