Label: Escapist/Melotov Records
Tracks: 4

Damn.  I'm so psyched to see this up for free download via Escapist records!  Here's a killer 4-way split featuring newer material from Arizona's Gatecreeper, New Jersey's Homewrecker, Pennsylvania's Outer Heaven, and Georgia's Scorched.  Each band offer up a track a piece of dirty, filthy, and raw music that runs the gamut of hardcore, punk, crust, and death metal.  Overall, this is an amazing split 12" and definitely should not be missed.  Highly recommended!  I was fortunate enough to snap a copy of this fantastic piece of wax when I saw Genocide Pact, Gatecreeper, Incantation, and Dying Fetus @ The Webster in Hartford, CT on Friday 10/19/18!  This split LP was released via Escapist and Melotov records on May 26th, 2017!

Take Over And Destroy/Gatecreeper-Split 7" (2014)

Country: USA
Genre: Hardcore, Punk, Death Metal, Sludge, Goth Rock

Label: President Gator Records/Common Wall Media
Tracks: 2
Length: 8.0'

Damn.  Here's a killer split 7" I absolutely had to post after hearing.  This seven inch features two new tracks from Arizona's Take Over And Destroy and Gatecreeper.  Take Over And Destroy is a six piece band from Tempe, Az who got their start in 2011, by the looks of things.  Take Over And Destroy play a killer style of music that blurs the lines between goth rock, death metal and sludge tinged style of hardcore.  On their side of the split Take Over And Destroy offer up one track of hardcore, metal, goth rock, etc that will leave you scratching your head.  The second song on the split comes courtesy of Gatecreeper.  Gatecreeper is a five piece death metal/hardcore band from Phoenix/Tucson, Arizona who formed in 2013, from the loooks of things.  Gatecreeper play a bonecrushing style of brutal sounding death metal/hardcore.  Gatecreeper's song for the split is more traditional in the realm of things, but by no means makes the song any less impressive.  Overall, this is a killer split 7" and should not be missed.  Highly recommended!  Enjoy!  This split 7" was released via President Gator and Common Wall Media on March 31st, 2014.

GATECREEPER - Self Titled

GATECREEPER    ☼    FACEBOOK    BANDCAMP    BIGCARTEL    TUMBLR

You guys must be fed up with bands abusing that Entombed- Boss HM2, aren’t you? You thought that it was ok that Rotten Sound has been basing its guitar tone for so many albums in this piece of gear, but after Trap Them it only got trendier and trendier. But you know what? who fucking cares. Don’t make me quote that Nails dude again. Me personally? I am more concerned about snare drum clones, shit sickens me. Anyway…

So, going back to pedals and other stuff. HM2, d-beat “beats” and pace, growls ov death, gory/ugly/negative lyrics, old school death metal worshiping sound, hardcore punk dontgiveafuckness, among other shite, are musical ingredients you can find in a ton of bands I won’t list list. That's what has been tagged as “Entombedcore”. Horses, lonesome men being men, american west (sometimes) via Almeria, gunslingers, stagecoach robbery, whiskey abuse, whores, saloons, crime, railroads, trains, few black men per film, etc. are elements of some kind of films called Western. So you wouldn’t get excited if you get offered the same menu always. But how do they cook it? that’s what makes it worth to check, taste, get drunk or high on them.

These 5 cooks hailing from Arizona serve it deliciously. Apparently they formed in 2013 and are influenced by bands like Dismember, Carnage, Entombed, Grave, Unleashed, Bolt Thrower and Obituary. And that is what you get from them, a headrippin’ death metal pastiche with some hardcore punk huffed glue, what already was addressed. This is waaaaay more interesting and catchy than bands like Entrails or Miasmal (sorry :(). This guys would even get an applause from Nicke Andersson.

To the date they have released a 4 song self titled EP, which you can grab from their webshop for a few bucks, and a tshirt if you fancy. The release is also available for paywhatthefuckyou want on their bandcamp. I really recommend this record. Do as I did: spin some Left hand path to Crawl Entombed, get nostalgic about why they don’t release stuff THAT sweet anymore, not that their new stuff is shit or anything, and then hit this release. It will be relieving… very relieving.
