If you've never noticed before, over on the right side of this page, a little bit past the chats etc, there is a link to something called "CURSED VIDEO FOOTAGE". This is just a little spot where I have gathered as much Cursed footage as I can find, surprisingly there's more than you may think, but I guess they did play a shit load of shows, so maybe it shouldn't come as a surprise. Anyway, every once in a while I search YouTube for anything new or something I might have missed. When I did this yesterday, I found quite a few vids that I did not have, about 10 or so of them. So they are there now, if this is of interest to you. And if you happen to know of any that I do not have, please let me know. One of the videos that was new to me is the first Cursed show (!) in Montreal from 2002. This is crazy to have on video, check it out below:

A compilation 8 track of (most of) all three Cursed albums - I, II, and III. Important notes about this release: We tried to fit everything from I, II, and III, but we found that 90 minutes of tape was the max time we could fit without running into issues. We had to remove the outro tracks on II and III ("Untitled" on II and "Gutters" on III) to be able to fit all three albums. Each one of these is made by hand and recorded in real time on vintage machines using refurbished cartridges and vintage tape. These are playable and meant to be, but also individual works of art.

Hello everybody, I am excited to say that I want you to join me in my first "Label Spotlight"! This will be an interesting new segment to help spread the word of multiple bands, the labels that work to bring them to light and the awesome people behind the scenes who make it all happen! This being first volume of Label Spotlight, it's gotta start with a bang!

Hummus Records!
This volume's spotlight is cast on a label that is a steadily growing beacon of creativity and musical diversity:
It all began in 2013 with the Founder and Producer: Jona Nido, who plays in a number of incredible bands ( Coilguns, Closet Disqo Queen, The Fawn, Sombre Sabre, Ølten) when he left his seven year stint as the guitarist for the german post-metal group, The Ocean Collective, immediately afterwards
launching Hummus Records.
His first achievement was simply to bring attention to bands he genuinely loved and felt had levels of passion for their art that exceeded the attention that had been receiving.
In the last five years, the Hummus Label has grown into a small team that is as efficient as they are diverse in their artists.
Some 15 of the bands (probably much more than this number even, it is hard to keep up) on the label are regularly sharing members and performing alongside one another, while there might be another band mate from a different project altogether working as the recording engineer, and possibly another as the mixing engineer...
All the while yet another person, from another band is making promotional copies of their albums by hand and distributing them.

It would seem, that for The Hummus Records Team, there is nothing that can stop them from this cyclical creative process, and the end result is a fresh and rich-for-the-palette melting pot; And one that never feels stale, stagnant or repetitious.

...or Jona's own band Coilguns, our Chief-Pulpiteer and the first Chris to write for The Pulpit...Chris Morris reviewed their latest release. Which I also very highly recommend you to listen to immediately, is the album "Millennials" recorded on a 1 1/2" inch tape audio workstation in a cabin in the middle of the wilderness some place in the Swiss landscape.
This process produced a tastefully claustrophobic, oddly anxious and at times, punchy mathcore grooves that make their particular take on Breach and Cursed-styled hardcore all that much more impressive.

This is a small sample of just how many different styles can be found on Hummus, and even more interesting is the concept of almost every act being a collective of musicians without sounding remotely like one another at all. It's a bit mind bending, and proves that dedicated musicians with the same goals can steadily put out strong material year-round under any circumstances. If you decide to follow these workaholics on their respective social medias, you will quickly see just how many projects/albums/tours/fests they are either directly performing or have a hand in helping other artists by playing the role of organizer.
Just launched and no festival gigs? They start their own festival.
Low Recording budget making it unrealistic to hire an experienced engineer? They work until they become the engineers themselves.
Can't find musicians for a brand new group of a completely different style? A simple arrangement of current artists has them recording and on the road as quickly as the idea enters their minds.
I could go on about their aforementioned efficiency, though at this point I think you are seeing this to be true. Likewise, I could continue about the great and exciting range of musical diversity that seems to escape most labels in favor of a singular, marketable sound. There is a uniqueness here that is genuine and passionate. That embodies the spirit of punk ethos, the power of the metal riff, the melodiousness and pace of the best indie rock bands and the try-anything-once LoFi "Dark Pop" music.
A better writer than myself could would put this next sentence in a way that is probably more poetic and hard hitting somehow and this is it:
The real point here is the fact that this label's efficiency and resourcefulness are what is actually the driving force that makes it into the diverse power house it truly has become and will continue to developing as, fostering passionate creativity, comaraderie and excellently unique releases...
Probably in a way neither you or I would expect...
And the usual suspects of Hummus like it that way.

Pallor- Alone EP (2017)

You have never heard a band quite like Pallor by way of Asheville, North Carolina.
I don't know of another band with this strong of songwriting that could fit or defy so many genres at once while making it sound easy and fresh as hell.
They are 100 percent unpredictable but nothing is out of place.
It isn't experimental for vanity purposes, it is experimental because it is the only way to describe, with honesty, how one drummer and one bassist could make such a fucking assault on your ears. Right from the start you get a chaotic blitz to your nosebone, and it just gets heavier from there.
You can't see what will happen next, as they jump from a Vocal Chant thru feedback and groovy drumming to rapid fire blast beats, to an almost Sumac or Primitive Man post metal bass instrumental passage. I don't know quite what to call this, except for: Heavy and Inspired. Nothing will prepare you, every twist keeps you glued to the track but never feels out of place.
This is passionate, violent, hateful and beautiful all at once.
Speaking of Bass: You just found the best Grind/Crust/Blackened bass player in the scene. Other bands should take note, this is pure style.
From the double thumping intro of the first verse of the first track to the constant pitch shifting to really drag you further away from the surface.
I imagine this music is drowning at sea, incarnated.
Another contender for Album of the year, easily.

alright so this is a band that's been around for years now but only recently dropped their first full length. and goddamn was it worth the wait. this features former members of cursed (dan Dunham) and shallow north Dakota. this is some heavy shit fo sho. imagine the bastard child of dave curran and david yow fronting a thrashier version of fudge tunnel and you might be close. a newer comparison might be meatwound. razor sharp riffs. brutal wall shaking bass rumbling. machine like percussion. topped off with some fantastic distorted howls and barks. this is brutal. this is mean. this is necessary. you go buy/download/support/worship/take your beating now

SECT - Demo (2016) + LP Announced
I've been sitting on this secret of a band for quite a while now, so I am so happy that Noisey has let the cat out of the bag. SECT is a new vegan straight edge hardcore band made up of some heavy hitters to say the least, from Raleigh, Charlotte, Portland & Toronto, including Chris Colohan (Cursed, Burning Love, Left For Dead, The Swarm), James Chang (Prayer For Cleansing, Undying, Gut Feeling, Catharsis), Scott Crouse & Ian Edwards (Earth Crisis) and Andrew Hurley (Enabler, The Damned Things, Fall Out Boy).
This "Demo" looks to be more of a 3-song preview of the upcoming LP, whichapparently will have 10 tracks total. And if this demo is any indication, we are all in for a big treat. The first song on the demo, Scourge Of Empire, will utterly destroy you. I swear there are 10 songs jammed into this one minute blast of controlled chaos. Think Nails covering a Left For Dead song while on a rollercoaster. The next two songs (Death Dealer and Sinking) merge together seamlessly on this demo version and slow things down a little bit, giving you a chance to breathe before bludgeoning you over the head with riff after riff. All I can say about songs 2 and 3 is it sounds like Cursed meets Trap Them in a dark alley. Haunting and deadly. If that's not enough to get you ready to give them all your money, I don't know what is. But enough with the comparisons, you just need to listen to this over and over and over again, like I am doing. Needless to say, I can't wait for this LP to drop in a few months.

MAGIC FINGERS // THE DEVIL RIDES OUT
So since everyone seemed to enjoy my latest Cursed offerings, and because I'm too lazy to post anything new, I thought I would re-post a video I made a while ago using the song Magic Fingers from Cursed III playing over top of a clip from 1968's "The Devil Rides Out", AKA "The Devil's Bride". The song somehow worked perfectly with the clip using almost zero editing. And, if you didn't know already, this is the movie that birthed the legendary He-Goat that you see on all things Cursed. Enjoy!

REJOICE! Straight from Deathwish Inc's Facebook page...
"Coming in early 2014, the vinyl reissue of "Two" from Cursed on Deathwish (artwork below). This new superior version of "Two" was manufactured using brand new pressing plates, making the release sound more monstrous than ever before. All of it presented in a gatefold jacket with revamped artwork and packaging.
This is the second in a series of singular represses of the entire Cursed full length catalog from Deathwish ("One" is now available). Cursed "Two" and "Three" albums were originally released by the defunct Goodfellow label, and are under exclusive license to Deathwish from Sonic Unyon Distribution.
A final limited box set of all three albums and a book of Cursed related material by Chris Colohan will be released later down the road via a partnership of Deathwish and Colohan's own label, High Anxiety."

I had previously posted a vinyl rip of the unreleased Cursed song "This Time Next Year". If, for some reason you don't recall, it was an outtake from the "One" LP session and was finally released this summer via a German bootleg LP titled "The Rest". This was the only completed outtake. There were a few abandoned half-songs, but nothing else made it to tape. While I'd like to think my rip of the track was ok, i'm happy to be able to offer a high quality upgrade for you. Trust me when I say that you're never going to find a better version of this song because this one was taken straight from the CD-R that came from the studio.

The band’s facebook page cites The Stooges, Cursed and Melvins as musical influences. Imagine my excitement ;)
Among their releases is a split EP with a cover version of Cursed’s “Reparations”. YEEEEEAAAAAH, potential blasphemy. But they nailed it. Immense vocals.
I have no clue what the government puts in the (genuinely delicious) Scottish tap water; the amount of great bands here is staggering.

First off, let me apologize for the lack of recent posts. Like I said earlier I had a catastrophic computer failure so it's been a slow road back. BUT, I finally received my copy of the new Cursed bootleg "The Rest" and I was too excited to not post about it. What can I say, you get a brand new Cursed song. That's really all you need to know. I already had every other release on here, but I would still pay triple the price just for "This Time Next Year". I can only hope that there are more unreleased songs in a vault somewhere.

I just found out about this LP tonight as these pictures came rolling in to my phone from my good friend Jer, who knows how much of a man-crush I have on Chris Colohan. Boy-Oh-Boy, what we have here is a new bootleg LP on the Fan Club label out of Germany that collects the odds and ends of the Cursed recording history, basically everything except their 3 studio albums, including the demo with the original Cursed logo! This looks to be done by the same people behind the bootleg repress of Cursed II not long ago. The back panel and inner stickers on the vinyl appear to be about the same, and they both clearly state on the front of the jacket "Pay No More Than €13". The cream of the crop here is obviously the 2nd to last track on the A-side, 'This Time Next Year' (aka Dead Or Alive), as it's an unreleased outtake from the 'One' LP sessions. Fuckin' A! I'm dying to hear that...
I've rounded up a list of where you can get this record, not sure how many of these are out there. There were only 800 pressed of that Cursed Two bootleg that I mentioned earlier. My friend got his copy at a local record store here in the States, so they are around, but you better act fast:
