Here's a killer split LP featuring new material from two St. Louis, Missouri based bands.St. The first band on the split is Laika. Laika is a four piece band who got their start in 2012. Laika play a killer style of music that incorporates elements of post hardcore, math rock, punk, and screamo. Musically, Laika can be loosely compared to bands such as Wounded Knee, Calculator, Beau Navire, and Todos Caeran. On their side of the split Laika offer up three tracks of killer post hardcore, math rock, and screamo. The next four tracks on the split come courtesy of Anodes. Anodes is a four piece post hardcore, punk, and screamo who formed in 2012. Anodes play a similar style of music as Laika, but Anodes' sound is more chaortic and volatile while Laika leans towards the melodic end of the post hardcore/screamo spectrum. On their side of the split, Anodes offer up four tracks of killer post hardcore and screamo that's an absolute must listen for fans of The Saddest Landscape, Saetia, and You And I.
