SpiritWorld is a band from Las Vegas, Nevada who formed in 2017.  SpiritWorld play an ugly, vicious, and brutal as fuck style of music that incorporates elements of hardcore, punk, thrash, and death metal within their sound.  Musically, SpiritWorld can be loosely compared to bands such as Lowered AD, Blistered, Harms Way, Gatecreeper, Integrity, Rise And Fall, and other like-minded bands.  Since forming in 2017, SpiritWorld have released a self-titled six song demo in May of 2017, a digital single titled Viper Blood in November of 2018, and a split EP with Black Coffee in March of 2019.  Pagan Rhythms is the band's debut full-length LP, which was released on November 5th, 2021.  On Pagan Rhythms, SpiritWorld offer up nine tracks of ugly, brutal, and vicious as fuck sounding hardcore, punk, thrash, and death metal.  Overall, Pagan Rhythms makes for an awesome listen and definitely should not be missed.  Highly recommended!  Enjoy!

Life's Torment is a three piece band from Las Vegas, Nevada who formed in 2007.  Life's Torment play a killer style of music that incorporates elements of hardcore, punk, grindcore, and powerviolence within their sound.  Since forming in 2007, Life's Torment have released self-titled EP in September of 2010, a split EP with Lethal Injection in March of 2011, a five song EP titled Torn Apart in December of 2011, a nine song EP titled Bloodshed in March of 2014, an eleven song LP titled The Anatomy Of Betrayal in November of 2015, a split with Lost Lands in April of 2016, and a fourteen song LP titled Becoming What You Hate in February of 2017.  Hindsight is the band's latest LP, which was released via To Live A Lie records on January 14th, 2020.  On Hindsight, Life's Torment offer up ten tracks of vicious, scathing, and brutal as fuck sounding hardcore, punk, grindcore, and powerviolence.  Overall, Hindsight makes for an awesome listen and definitely should not be missed.  Highly recommended!  Enjoy!

Here's a new killer split 12" featuring new material from two of my current favorite post hardcore bands.  Caravels is a five piece post hardcore band who formed in May of 2006.  Caravels play a tense and progressive style of post hardcore mixed with touches of ambient post rock thrown in for good measure.  On their side of the split, Caravels offer up two tracks of tense, urgent, yet somehow hauntingly ambient sounding post hardcore mixed with post rock.  The second two songs come courtesy of Octaves.  Octaves are a five piece post hardcore band from Baltimore, Maryland who formed in 2009.  Octaves play a similar style of music, but with vocals that tend to be more strained and harsh spectrum of things.  Octaves sound is as equally as progressive and the band even throws in the use of an organ to keep things interesting.  Overall, both bands are brilliantly paired up on this split and both bands offer up top notch material for this EP.  Highly recommended!  Enjoy!  This 12" was released via Topshelf and Bridge Nine records on January 27th, 2015.
