Nicole Oberle-Skin LP (2020)

Country: Unknown
Genre: Drone, Ambient, Alternative, Lo-Fi, Experimental
Label: Whited Sepulchre
Tracks: 11
Length: 31.40'

Nicole Oberle is a prolific and enigmatic artist whose work in the fields of textural ambient music and lo-fi beat-oriented work unfolds to reveal layers of emotional transparency and honesty. Skin - Oberle’s first release for Whited Sepulchre Records - comes in as a wash of blackened drone, everything riding just a bit above the red, creating an overladen and disorienting rush. Even when Oberle opens up to incorporate birch-bare guitar lines, forlorn piano chords, disembodied vocal drones, fragments of poems and crushing beats, everything is saturated with a palpable sense of foreboding. There is a measurable heaviness imbuing every motion creating this recor.

(Press Note)

*Skin is Nicole Oberle's latest full-length LP, which was released on January 24th, 2020.  On Skin, Nicole Oberle offers up elven tracks of dreamy, atmospheric, and hauntingly beautiful drone, ambient, alternative, and experimental lo-fi music.  Overall, Skin makes for an awesome listen and definitely should not be missed.  Highly recommended!  Enjoy!

FFO: EVERYTHING THAT IS THE COMPLETE OPPOSITE OF MY LAST POST

so i did the cobra noir post yesterday and while putting that together I found this. this is Patrick fontaine's, guitarist for cobra noir and the black hand, current project. this kind of stuff isn't typically my area so im probably not the best one to review it but I thought id put it up for anyone interested. this is mostly instrumental ambient post rock. some mild doom elements. and I do mean mild. the only thing I can think of to compare it to would maybe be harvestman or neurosis more calm moments or maybe godspeed you! black emperor. again not really my thing but I guess its good as this stuff goes.
