Respire is a six piece band from Toronto, Ontario, Canada who formed in early 2016. Respire play a dark and atmospheric style of music that incorporates elements of post hardcore, screamo, post rock, and post metal within their sound. Musically, Respire can said to be influenced by bands such as Old Soul, Black Love, Godspeed! You Black Emperor, Russian Circles, The Appleseed Cast, and other like-minded bands. Since forming in 2013, Respire have released a self-titled four song demo in April of 2014, a digital single titled Anthems For Falling Stars in January of 2015, a nine song LP titled Gravity And Grace in April of 2016, an eight song LP titled Denoument in July of 2018, an eight song companion LP to Denoument titled Memorial in November of 2018, and a digital single titled Go Mad And Mark in January of 2019. Black Line is the band's latest full-length LP, which was released via Church Road records on December 4th, 2020. On Black Line, Respire offer up nine tracks of killer post hardcore, post rock, post metal, and screamo. Overall, Black Line makes for an amazing listen and definitely should not be missed.
