Pretty Hurts are a four piece band from Berlin, Germany who formed in early 2014. Pretty Hurts play a frenetic and tense style of propulsive punk and post punk. Musically, Pretty Hurts give nods to bands such as Hot Snakes, Wipers, Science Of Yabra, and Ten Volt Shock. Their sound was described as being a cross between DC Revolution Summer era punk bands and DC Bands mixed with post-modern Scandinavian noise bands. I'm by far no means an expert on Scandinavian noise, so I'm just going with the post punk tag for these dudes. Since their inception in 2014, Pretty Hurts have released a six song EP titled Make Graves, which was released via Rock Star and Grave Imprint records back in October of 2014 and a four song 7" titled Expectations in September of 2015. This is the band's debut full-length LP, which was released via Rockstar records on November 18th, 2016. On their self-titled debut, Pretty Hurts offer up thirteen tracks of dark, tense, and moody, punk, post punk, and noise rock. Overall, this is a killer LP and should not be missed.
