Alter is a three piece band from Baltimore, MD. who formed in the winter of 2015, by the looks of things.  Alter feature members of Barbelith and MNWA.  Alter play a killer style of reverb heavy and distorted as fuck sounding shoegaze and indie rock.  Musically, Alter can be loosely compared to bands such as Cloakroom, Whirr, Weekend, and other like-minded bands.  Since their inception in 2015, Alter have released a five song EP titled False Dawn in 2015, a digital single titled Static Sea in June of 2015, and a self-titled three song 7" in March of 2013.  Embers is the band's debut full-length LP, which is slated for release via Hidden Door records in early 2017.  On Embers, Alter offer up seven songs of dark, moody, reverb heavy shoegaze and indie rock.  Overall, Embers is a fantastic album and should not be missed.  Highly recommended!  Enjoy!
