Here's a killer split cassette featuring new material from Somerset KY's Leaving and Kentucky based Messes. Leaving is a four piece band from Somerset, KY who formed in January of 2014. Leaving play a killer style of music that incorporates elements of post hardcore, screamo, and em within their sound. Musically, Leaving can be loosely compared to bands such as Have Mercy, Daiseyhead, Del Paxton, and Old Gray. Since their inception in 2014, Leaving have released a six song EP titled Nothing Feels Right in August of 2014, a single titled Drowning in September of 2015, and a four song EP titled Growing Apart in January of 2016. Messes is a three piece band from Somerset Kentucky, who formed in 2012. Messes play a killer style of music that incorporates elements of post hardcore, emo, and screamo within their sound. Musically, Messes can be loosely compared to bands such as My Fictions, We Were Skeletons, and old Pianos Become The Teeth. Since forming in 2012, Messes have released a four song EP titled This Is What We Woke Up To in August of 2012, a four song EP titled The Sounds Your Basement Made in May of 2013, a ten song LP titled Don't Be A Let Down in May of 2014, and a four way split 7" with Gillian Carter, Wounded Knee, and City Cop in 2015. This split EP features two songs a piece from each band and each band offers up top notch material for this release. Overall, this is a killer split EP and should not be missed. Highly recommended. This split EP was released on cassette via Withdrawn records on June 6th, 2016.
