Backslider is a three piece band from Philadelphia, PA who formed in 2010, from the looks of things. Backslider play a vicious and brutal as fuck style of music that incorporates elements of hardcore, punk, sludge, and powerviolence within their sound. Musically, Backslider can be said to be influenced by bands such as Man Is The Bastard, Crossed Out, Dropdead, Despise You, Weekend Nachos, and other like-minded bands. Since forming in 2010, Backslider have released a split 7" with Chainsaw To The Face in January of 2010, a self-titled EP in January of 2010, a split 7" with Nimbus Terrifix in March of 2011, a six song EP titled Maladapted in April of 2012, a seven song 10" titled Consequences in February of 2013, and a six song 12" titled Motherfucker in February of 2016. Death Residue is the band's latest EP, which was released via Nerve Altar records on June 8th, 2018. On Death Residue, Backslider offer up two tracks of killer hardcore, punk, sludge, and powerviolence. Overall, Death Residue makes for a killer listen and should not be missed. Highly recommended!
