So, as I'm getting back into a regular posting schedule, I have been trying to think of the best way to move forward, and I need your help. I don't think I can go back to the old days of writing out a big review for a release. For one, there are just too many good releases that I'd like to share and if I wanted to write a well researched blog post on each one, I'd have to quit my job (Again, anyone who does want to join in and post on the main page is welcome to, jet let me know). I know for a while now I've just been doing something like posting a pic, sharing some details about the band/release and embedding a Bandcamp player. And as easy as that sounds, it can still get to be too much sometimes (for me at least). So I have been contemplating stripping posting WAY down. It may not be as exciting and pretty, but I am wondering if it will save my sanity and make it easier to keep posting for many years. I'm talking like just posting a Bandcamp or Spotify player (and probably the genre, I think that's pretty important). A game developer I like, Hideo Kojima, just posts cool things on his Instagram, with no captions or context. Basically if you are into his games and aesthetic, you can trust you will like the stuff he posts about. If he likes something, he just posts it, and I think there's something cool about that. But maybe you guys think that's just a bit too lazy for a music blog. Anyway, I've created a short survey below to help me come to some kind of decision, I'd appreciate it if you could answer a few questions for me, but of course, don't feel obligated to. Thanks.

Long time lurker here, i always enjoyed the posts, no matter if they were reviews or just embeds. Also i'm close to catching up on the posts as well (in the last few years ive listened to basically everything that was posted on this blog, elementary revolt and manic compression, safe to say this place was vastly influential to my music taste lol so if i'm done catching up i'd happily help out with posts (as my job at a multinational lets it).
Cheers
Ben
As someone that is struggling to keep their own shit together, and that used to contribute to different websites... it can be a lot, especially if it's a hobby/passion project or a side gig on top of life and a day job. I say just do as much as you want or feel like doing in the moment. I won't have any expectations beyond that. I'll check out whatever you put up.
I'm glad you get it man, this summer has been ROUGH for me emotionally, not to mention the hellscape that is my work. I'm trying to find the best routine I can get into that will let me keep doing this consistently long term. Hoping not to simplify things too much but if it happens, it happens. Thanks for being into what I'm into dude
Hey Ben, this means everything to me. Thanks so much. I'm glad I have given you so much content that you have to catch up lol. But I agree, lik TV shows, there's too much damn music, if that's a thing. And yeah, those Elementary Revolt and Manic Compression blogs were the main reason I started doing any of this, so yeah, vastly influential to me too. Felt good to see others like what I like. But that would be awesome if you wanted to post, just email me whenever and we can chat. idahoprime@gmail.com. I have to warn you though, posting on Blogger has become a royal pain in the ass over the years. But it works, technically. Later
I miss the long-form stuff, but I understand. Any content we get is great, anything else is gravy. Just post what you like. You've got great taste and your recs are great. You feel extremely passionate about something, you'll find time to write up something. But I will appreciate anything and everything you post, no matter how short and sparse or long and expanded. You're the best!
Been coming here for years and years. I love your detailed posts mostly because I love reading about how much you admire about a band or song. You always convince me to take a chance on something I otherwise might not have.
Thanks for the kind words. And yes I need to get better about that. Sometimes I think every post has to be constructed in the same way, but that's kind of silly. Thanks for reminding me.
Wow that some high praise dude, thanks a lot. I'm honored that anyone ever comes here at all, and if you end up liking something I post, that still kind of blows my mind. I'm going to do my best
Longtime reader, I agree with the above- we genuinely appreciate your effort and are happy with whatever you decide to post. No matter how infrequent. You do all the work so we are in no position to complain. Grateful that the blog and chat are still going!
Yo! thanks for sticking around all these years, it means a lot. and thanks for the kind words. I dont plan on going anywhere
I think you can mix it up a bit. If it's something you can say a lot about, do a longer post. And you just want to keep it brief, do a brief description. At the very least do FFO and name similar bands. I used to blog years ago and did a combo so there''s really no right or wrong.
