State Of The Blog Address

Hello everyone, how's it going? I don't really know what to write here, but I did just pay for 2 more years for the domain address, so I guess the blog won't be closing down officially for a while. What will happen in those 2 years, I have no fucking idea, because I just can't seem to get into the groove of posting anything regular. I know that none of you are pissed off about it or anything, but I'm sure some of you are bummed. And I am too. My Mom also passed away unexpectedly in May so that fucked me up pretty good. I've tried to post stuff here and there, but I just can't seem to write any kind of review. Part of that is that I've kind of lost the love of seeking out new music. To be honest, I listen to Spotify almost exclusively these days. I'm pretty out of the loop otherwise. I love that the chat is still going strong and well behaved though. I have tried to post some interesting new free stuff from Bandcamp, which is kind of nostalgic for me because that's basically how this blog started, but even that isn't very fulfilling. Chris is very busy and got very burned out as well, and Jerm is... well, Jerm is Jerm (haha just kidding buddy). So I don't know how many regular posts you're actually going to see here. I've mentioned this before but no one has ever really taken me up on it, but if you are interested in posting stuff on the main page, whether it be reviews, links, pictures, videos, new stuff, old stuff... whatever, just email me. Help is always appreciated. Later.

It's all good man, you gotta take care of yourself first. The chat is super active once you get past the jerks looking for Taylor swift or whatever. Your maintenance of the blog is very much appreciated!

Sorry to hear about your mom. Mine passed just over a year ago and it still creeps in and hits me every now and then. It does get easier though.

Damn, sorry to hear about your mum, and of course Jerm, that goes for you too! My condolences!

My condolences, sorry to hear that. No wonder you've lost the motivation but props keeping the site online.

For me too Dead Pulpit is one of the most important music sites in the last 10 or so years and it was/is a major inspiration for my own music blog.

All the best,
Alex

Hi Adam. I completely understand this. I felt burnt out with life and didn't have the energy to continue blogging.

Well, everything changes over time, man... and so do the dynamics of everything we do online. This is still a great place to visit, no matter if posts are less frequent. Nice community around it and chat/requests are still a great place for me to see if there's something cool I've missed regarding new releases. Thanks for keeping it (a)live!

I just want to let you that I appreciate you doing this blog for the last ten years. I've found so many good bands here and you've been kind enough to share my bands. I too have fallen into the Spotify trap as well. Usually what I do is take what you post here and look it up on spotify then if i really like I buy a copy of it.

Very sorry for your loss. And I understand completely how people can burn out. I've had severe writer's block for some time. But there are many ways to discover new music. I'll still check in here. Good luck!
