Possessor is a three piece band from London, UK who formed in December of 2013.  Possessor play a killer style of music that incorporates elements of 70's influenced metal, doom, sludge, black metal, stoner rock, and thrash within their sound.  Musically, Possessor can sad to be influenced by bands such as Motorhead, Blue Cheer, and Black Sabbath.  Possessor can be loosely compared o more modern bands such as  Doomriders, Northless, Ancient Sky, Saviours, and Liturgy.  Since forming in 2013, Possessor have released a seven song EP titled Wings Of Fire in January of 2014, a nine song LP titled Electric Hell in June of 2014, a four song 12" titled Stay Dead in March of 2015, a two song EP titled Live At The 12 Bar in March of 2015, and a two song EP titled Live At The Windmill in June of 2015.  Dead By Dawn is Possessor's latest nine song LP, which was released on July 17th, 2016.  On Dead By Dawn, Possessor offer up nine tracks of killer doom, sludge, black metal, stoner rock, and thrash. Overall, Dead By Dawn is a killer LP and should not be missed.  Highly recommended!  Enjoy!  Look for cd copies via Anvileater records in the near future.

This is a massively enjoyable EP from London's Possessor. Awesome doom-punk tone to the guitars and strained vocals with tons of echo. And I swear to God they are using Black Sabbath's snare drum. This is what you listen to while carving pentagrams into schooldesks before skating home while headbanging with your hair in your face. Tons of evil and occult imagery as well, but what makes this band good is all the riffs and grooves in the music. Light some candles and turn this up.

JUNE 2014 UPDATE

Well I'm back to bring you another monthly round-up of new shit I've discovered recently. And here's my obligatory apology for not updating the blog more frequently. But anyway, lots of good stuff below to shove in your ear-holes. Mixed in with the usual bounty of hardcore & crust, there is some stoner, doom & even screamo stuff. I don't know what's wrong with me, maybe I hit my head, but I'm digging all of this stuff, so you should too.
