Bailer is four piece band from Cork city, Ireland who formed in January of 2015.  Bailer play a killer style of music that incorporates elements of hardcore, punk, and metal within their sound.  Musically, Bailer can be loosely compared to bands such as Converge, Rise And Fall, Botch, Breather Resist, and other like-minded bands.  Since forming in 2015, Bailer have released two digital singles in 2015, a four song EP titled Shaped By The Landscape in April of 2016, and a four song EP titled PTSD in June of 2017.  This is the band's latest EP, which was released on February 9th, 2018.  On their latest self-titled EP, Bailer offer up five tracks of brutal and chaotic metallic hardcore.  Overall, this EP makes for an awesome listen and definitely should not be missed.  Highly recommended!  Enjoy!

Grit is a Dublin, Ireland based band who formed in 2016, from the looks of things.  Grit play a melodic style of female fronted post punk and punk.  As far as comparisons go, Grit can be loosely compared to bands such as Terrible Feelings, early White Lung, Cult Values, and the Eisinores, and other like-minded bands.  Ghost Estates is the band's debut four song 7", which was released via Contraszt! records on February 12th, 2017.  On Ghost Estates, Grit offer up four tracks of tense, moody, and slightly melodic post punk and punk.  Overall, Ghost Estates is a killer 7" and definitely worth checking out.  Great stuff!  Enjoy!

Gummidge is a three piece band from Galway, Ireland who formed in 2010, from the looks of things.  Gummidge play an interesting mix of music that incorporates elements of punk, post punk, post hardcore, grunge, and noise rock.  Musically, Gummidge can be said to be influenced by bands such as Fugazi, Quicksand, early Refused, Haymarket Riot, and Shellac.  Since forming in 2010, Gummidge have released a four song EP titled Sick Again in October of 2012.  Heartbreakers is the band's latest full-length LP, which was released on October 1st, 2016.  On Heartbreakers, Gummidge offer up nine tracks of angular, tense, and frenetic sounding punk, post punk, post hardcore, grunge, and noise rock.  Overall, Heartbeakers makes for a killer listen.  Highly recommended!  Enjoy!

Okus is a four piece band from Drogheda, Ireland who formed in 2013, from the looks of things.  Okus features members of ex members of : Dagda, Bleeding Rectum, Scavenger, War Iron, TTOW, and Fuckhammer.  Okus play a scathing and vicious style of music that incorporates elements of hardcore, punk, crust, doom, and grindcore within their sound.  Musically, Okus can be loosely compared to bands such as Hammers, Geist, SVFFER, Grinding Halt, and Resurrectionists.  Scourge is the band's debut full-length LP, which was released via Distro-y and Chainbreaker records on June 2nd, 2016.  On Scourge, Okus offer up ten tracks of brutal as fuck sounding hardcore, punk, crust, doom, and grindcore.  Overall, Scourge is a killer LP and should not be missed.  Highly recommended!  Enjoy!

Damn, Here's some great news that totally made my day.  Drainland is now active again after several years being on hiatus.  Readers of my old blog know I was a huge Drainland fan and now I'm pleased to inform you that they're playing again.  For those of you out of the loop, Drainland is a five piece band from Dublin, Ireland who formed in 2006.  Drainland play a killer style of music that incorporates elements of hardcore, punk, crust, sludge and metal within their sound.  Since their inception in 2006, Drainland have released a three song EP titled Swine in July of 2009, a split 10" with Grinding Halt in April of 2010, a six song EP titled And So Our Troubles Began in May of 2010, a split LP with Trenches in July of 2011, a split 7" with Cellgraft in August of 2011, a split 7" with Crows in January of 2012, and a split 7" with Enabler in January of 2012.  This is Drainland's latest split cassette, which is a split with the United Kingdom's Witch Cult.  Witch Cult is a hardcoe, punk, powerviolence band from Bournemouth, United Kingdom who formed in 2011, from the looks of things.  Each band contributes one song a piece for this split cassette.  On this split, both Drainland and Witch Cult offer up top notch material and fans of hardcore, punk, crust, sludge, and powerviolence will be sure to really be into this split cassette.  this split was never formally released and was released for Witch Cult's tour earlier in the year.  Overall, this is a killer split.  Highly recommended!  Enjoy!
