Dawn Ray'd is a three piece band from Northern England who formed in 2016, from the looks of things.  Dawn Ray'd play a bleak, raw, and oppressive style of black metal and doom.  Musically, Dawn Ray'd can be loosely compared to bands such as Barghest, Black September, Mutilation Rites, and Churchburn.  A Thorn, A Blight is the band's debut six song 12", which was released via Halo Of Flies and Moment Of Collapse records on July 1st, 2016.  On A Thorn, A Blight, Dawn Ray'd offer up six tracks of raw, filthy, and gloomy as fuck sounding black metal and doom.  Overall, A Halo, A Blight kicks some serious ass and Dawn Ray'd is an absolute must listen for fans of filthy and raw death metal.  Highly recommended!  Enjoy!

Ancst is a four piece band from Berlin, Germany who formed in 2011.  Ancst play a killer style of music that incorporates elements of hardcore, punk, black metal, and crust within their sound.  Musically, Ancst can be loosely compared to bands such as Svffr, Throwers, Direwolves, Seizures, and other like-minded bands.  Since forming in 2011, Ancst have released a three song demo in August of 2012, a two song cassette titled the Humane Condition in April of 2013, appeared on the Miss The Stars compilation in June of 2013, a two song cdr titled Lamenting A Dying World in August of 2013, a split LP with Hiveburner in August of 2013, a split with Smutecni Slavnost in January of 2014, a split with D/AA/D in May of 2014, a four song EP titled Taima in September of 2014, a compilation of out of print early material titled In Turmoil in August of 2014, a split with AST in March of 2015, a two song EP titled Dark Space Clutter in October of 2015, and appeared on the Into The Vortex compilation in March of 2016.  Moloch is the band's latest full-length LP, which released via Halo Of Flies and Vendetta records on April 15th, 2016.  On Moloch, Ancst offer up ten tracks of vicious and brutal as fuck sounding blackened and crust tinged modern hardcore.  Overall, Moloch is an incredible album and should should not be missed.  Highly recommended!  Enjoy!  Seriously, I can't get enough of this album.  Enjoy!

Morrow is an international music collective featuring members of Carnist, Archivist, Anopheli, Wildspeaker, Monachu, The Nepalese Temple Ball, Knifedoutofexistence, and Masakari.  Morrow play an intense style of music that can best be described as being a mixture of emotive crust, neocrust, and possibly dark folk music accentuated by cellos.  This is the band's debut full-length LP, which was released via Halo Of Flies, Alerta Antifascista, and Chaos Rurale records on April 11th, 2016.  Covenant Of Teeth features four tracks of dark, somber, powerful, and bleak sounding neocrust with flourishes of cello, which adds a hauntingly atmospheric vibe to the band's sound and style.  Overall, Covenant Of Teeth makes for an amazing listen.  Highly recommended!  Enjoy!

Svalbard is a four piece band from Bristol, United Kingdom who formed in 2011.  Svalbard play a killer style of music that incorporates elements of hardcore, punk, crust, and post hardcore within their sound.  Musically, Svalbard can be loosely compared to bands such as Birds In Row, Direwolves, Withers, and other like-minded bands.  Svalbard's sound definitely stands out from the pack because the band throws in elements of atmospheric post rock and hints of melody to keep things interesting.  Since their inception in 2011, Svalbard have released a self-titled three song 7" in March of 2012, a four song 10" titled Gone Tomorrow in February of 2013, a two song 7" titled Flightless Birds in October of 2013, split LP with Pariso in July of 2014, and a compilation cd containing the band's discography from their various 7", 10", and split LP with Pariso in January of 2015.  One Day All This Will End is Svalbard's latest full-length LP, which was released via Halo Of Flies, Holy Roar, and Through Love records on September 25th, 2015.  On One Day All This Will End, Svalbard offer up eight tracks of brutal as fuck, yet hauntingly atmospheric  hardcore, punk, crust, and post hardcore.  Overall, One Day All This Will End is an amazing LP and should not be missed.  Highly recommended!  Enjoy!

Here's a killer new 7" that was recently released on Halo Of Flies and Here In Now records that I absolutely had to review after listening.  This split 7" features new tracks from Poland's Suffering Mind and Milwaukee, Wisconsin's Lifes.  The first side of the 7 in. features Lifes.  Lifes is a Milwaukee, WI based band who got their start in early 2013, from the looks of things.  Lifes play a caustic and volatile style of music that incorporates elements of hardcore, punk, powerviolence, and grindcore within their sound.  Since their inception in 2013, Lifes have released an eight song demo in April of 2013, appeared on the Bitter Cold compilation 7" released in July of 2014, a split 7" with Short Walk in February of 2014, and a split 7" with Double Me in May of 2014.  On their side of the 7" Lifes, offer up five tracks of devastatingly filthy sounding hardcore, punk, powerviolence, and grindcore.  Next up on the split is Suffering Mind.  Suffering Mind is a three piece band from Lublin, Poland who formed in 2009.  Suffering Mind play a killer style of filthy and raw hardcore, punk, and powerviolence.  Suffering Mind's discography is impressive and includes multiple three 12"s, several one 7" and multiple splits with multiple bands since 2009.  On their side of the split, Suffering Mind offer up 6 tracks of caustic and venomous as fuck sounding hardcore, punk, and powerviolence.  Overall, this is a killer split and should not be missed.  Highly recommended.  Enjoy!

JUNGBLUTH - Lovecult (2015)

Well, this sure was a nice surprise to come home to! Two years after the release of their first LP, Germany's Jungbluth have made available a brand new, 10-song full-length titled Lovecult that they've been working on the last weeks and months. As with all of their releases, this one's free to download and of course you can "name your price" if you wish. If you didn't know, Jungbluth arose from the ashes of the legendary Alpinist, so you'll have an idea of what to expect. While their music seems to be more evolved and diverse than Alpinist, there is still plenty of breakneck speed and violence in their music, just expect a few more slow spots. From what I've listened to so far, this is Jungbluth's best offering yet. Better production, higher energy and overall it just sounds really fucking great. It still amazes me when 3-piece bands sound this loud. Love it. I've already ordered my LP from Halo Of Flies, so if you are interested, links are below. This record is self-released and 500 will be on Solid Green 180gr. Vinyl and 1,000 will be on Black 180gr. Vinyl.

Anopheli is a seven piece band from Oakland, California who formed in early 2014.  Anopheli features members of Light Bearer, Fall Of Efrafa, Carnist, and Monuments Collapse.  Anopheli play a dark, melancholy, and stark sounding style of music that gives nods to elements of hardcore, punk, crust, emo, and doom.  The most notable aspect of Anopheli is how the band incorporates the use of strings in their music, which gives their mixture hardcore, crust, and doom a really interesting twist.  The Ache Of Want is the band's upcoming LP, which is slated to go up on pre-order through Halo Of Flies and Alerta Antifascista Records on October, 1st.   On The Ache Of Want, Anopheli offer up six tracks of phenomenal sounding hardcore, punk, and crust.  Overall, The Ache Of Want is a killer LP and should not be missed.  Anopheli was cool enough to put The Ache Of Want up over the weekend on their bandcamp page and immediately had to share this album as soon as I saw it up.  Enjoy!
