Ivy is a New York City based hardcore band who formed in the fall of 2013.  Ivy play an off-kilter, nihilistic, and self-destructive sounding style of late 70's early 80's hardcore/punk.  Ivy sound is trashy, lo-fi, and by listening to them, you can tell that they don't give a fuck about trends and what's popular in underground music. Musically, Ivy can be said to be influenced by classic NYC punk bands such as the Dictators, Dead Boys, New York Dolls, Iggy And The Stooges, and other influential bands from that era.  Ivy takes that sound and filters it through a killer lo-fi lens, which puts a different spin on their take on trashy hardcore/punk.  Ivy really got my attention with their self-titled 12" released on Katorga Works last August.  A Cat's Curse, No Dog's Problem is the band's latest four song EP, which serves as their follow-up to their self-titled 7".  On their latest 7", Ivy offer up four new tracks of off-kilter, fuzzy, and blown-out sounding hardcore/punk.  Overall, Cat's Curse, No Dog's Problem is a killer 7" and should not be missed.  Highly recommended!  Enjoy!  Cat's Curse, No Dog's Problem was released via Katorga Works on July 7th, 2015.

Press Note: Vexx's debut 12" on Grazer/M'Ladys was one of our favorite releases of 2013, so we're endlessly excited to present their newest 7", Give And Take. Hailing from Olympia, Vexx is heavily indebted to late 70s American punk with a sound akin to bands like Legal Weapon or the Avengers, but with even more of a rock 'n' roll edge than those bands and a vocalist just as soulful and powerful. 

*I can't do much better in describing this new 7" from Vexx.  All I do know is that Vexx offer up four new tracks of hook laden and catchy as fuck sounding 70's influenced punk with a great rock and roll vibe.  Snotty female vocals round out the band's trashy vibe remarkably well.  Give And Take was released via Katorga Works records on April 25th, 2015.  Overall, this is a killer 7" and is an absolute must listen for fans of trashy punk and garage rock.  Highly recommended!  Enjoy!

Sheer Mag are a five piece band from Philadelphia, PA who formed in late 2014, from the looks of things.  Sheer Mag play an infectiously catchy style of music that incorporates elements of punk, garage rock, and power pop within their sound.  musically, Sheer Mag can be said to be influenced by bands such as Iggy And The Stooges, The Replacements, Cheap Girls, Chisel, and can be loosely compared to newer bands such as Thin Lips and Hop Along.  II is the band's latest four song 7", which was released via Katorga Works and Wilsuns Recording Company on April 25th, 2015.  On II, Sheer Mag offer up four tracks of infectiously catchy punk and garage rock.  Overall, II is a killer 7" and should not be missed.  Highly recommended!  Enjoy!

Pure Disgust are a five piece band from Washington, D.C. who formed in 2013.  Pure Disgust play a killer style of stripped-down, bare bones style modern hardcore.  Pure Disgust's sound is blistering and heavily influenced by late 70's era UK punk, according to Katorga Works.  Musically, Pure Disgust can be loosely compared to bands such as Hounds Of Hate, Boston Strangler, and CREEM.  Chained is the band's latest six song EP, which was released via Katorga Works records on April 25th, 2015.  On Chained, Pure Disgust tear their way through six tracks in a little over nine minutes.  Overall, Chained is a killer 7" and Pure Disgust is an absolute must listen for fans of stripped down/bare bones modern punk.  Highly recommended!  Enjoy!
