This is part one in a series of five limited edition release split LPs for Hypertension records featuring new and unreleased tracks by bands that include Amenra, Vvovnds, Hessian, Primitive Man, Drums Are For Parades, Sardonis, Alkerdeel, Nihill. These albums were released as a five LP box set in June of 2015. I really wanted to post the AmenRa and VVOVNDS split because their newest LP, The Flesh Descends was so fucking amazing.
(Press Note) The Amenra songs on this release focus on the quieter, more atmospherically sinister side of the band’s sound, but they hit as hard as any shrieking, electrically-charged moment.
The Vvovnds-side contains five nailbombs of harsh blackened powerviolence, hateful sludge and overly-reverbed vocals, sharp as a rusty knive The pitchblack mixing and mastering was delivered by Will Killingsworth (Failures, No Faith, Ampere,…).
