Nopes is a four piece band from Oakland, CA who formed in late 2014, from the looks of things. Nopes play a killer style of lo-fi punk, grunge, and garage rock. Musically, Nopes can be said to be influenced by bands such as Melvins, Flipper, Sneeze, Cheena, Metz, and other like-minded bands. Since forming in 2014, Nopes have released a five song EP titled Nectar Of The Dogs in June of 2015, an eleven song LP titled Never Heard Of It in October of 2016, a five song EP titled Fun Limbo in May of 2017, and a nineteen song LP titled Stapler in July of 2018. Djork is the band's latest full-length LP, which was released via Magnetic Eye records on January 29th, 2021. On Djork, Nopes offer up thirteen tracks of weird, off-kilter, and discordant punk, grunge, garage rock, and noise rock. Overall, Djork makes for an awesome listen and definitely should not be missed. Highly recommended! Enjoy!
