Whips is four piece band from Milwaukee, Wisconsin who formed in late 2012. Whips play a dark and moody style of music that incorporates elements of punk, grunge, post punk, and indie rock within their sound. Musically, Whips can be loosely compared to bands such as Pretty Girls Make Graves, early White Lung, Terrible Feelings, and other like-minded bands. Since forming in 2012, Whips have released a five song EP titled Year One in July of 2013 and a nine song LP titled Turn It On in December of 2014. The Ride is the band's latest full length LP, which was released via Skeletal Lightning records on April 7th, 2017. On The Ride, Whips offer up ten tracks of dark and moody punk, grunge, post punk, and indie rock. Overall, The Ride makes for an amazing listen and definitely should not be missed.
