Hey everyone, sorry (once again) for the lack of posts from me here. No reason why, just being the regular piece of shit that I am haha. But I saw this little 4-track release from Cologne, Germany's Alouatta and I thought you guys would dig it. I dont know much about this band, no Facebook or anything, but since they are a hardcore crust band from Germany, you should know what to expect. Something along the lines of Svffer, Trainwreck, Alpinist etc etc, just maybe not as good as those bands LOL, but still worth a listen.

Holy shit.  This EP is probably one of the best releases I've heard all week.  Gazzan is a five piece band from Cleveland, Ohio who formed in early 2016 from the looks of things.  Gazzan features Aaron and Lenny Melnick, formerly of the legendary Integrity and were responsible for some of Integrity's best albums.  Gazzan also features members of American Werewolves and Bowel.  Gazzan play a powerful and brutal as fuck style of music that incorporates elements of hardcore, punk, and metal within their sound.  The "Holy Terror" Clevo-style signature sound is definitely present with Gazzan, but that only scratches the surface as far as the band's sound and style is concerned.  Gazzan also features a depth of technicality and complexity that fills out the band's sound and style. Touches of melodic sensibility completes the package and results in a dense, dark, ominous, and brutal listen.  Extinction is Gazzan's debut four song EP, which was released on July 12th, 2016.  On their debut four song offering, Gazzan pummel the listener with four tracks of brutal, powerful,, complex, and foward-thinking hardcore, punk, and metal that's an absolutemust listen for fans of Fulgora, Xaphan, and other like-minded bands.  Overall, this EP absolutely rips and should not be missed.  Highly recommended!  Enjoy!

Saetia-Collected 2x LP (2016)

                                            SAETIA disbanded after only three years (1997-2000), but in that short amount of time they created music that would live on to be the forefront of the genre. Based out of NYC, the band made their home at CBGB’s, ABC No Rio, and basements across the East Coast. Their style of melodic, abrasive, and emotive punk / hardcore still captures new audiences today. In their short time, Saetia released a demo cassette, two 7”s, and one LP with pressings of very small numbers. Obtaining these come with near impossible searches and deep pockets. Here's the idea: two bands from Syracuse got together to record a split. DIALYSIS chose a song for BLEAK to cover and a member of Dialysis sings it. BLEAK chose a song for DIALYSIS to cover and a member of Bleak sings it. And then each band does another song to make it worth your while.
BLEAK cover the Unsane, and then they also throw in a Tom Waits cover because they wanted to.
DIALYSIS does a new song, "Things I Hate About This Place", and also does a Tom Waits song because Bleak demanded it.
These records are all pressed on pretty blue vinyl, come with a download code, and come in a fancy-schmancy letterpressed cover printed right here in Syracuse at the legendary Boxcar Press.

2 piece hardcore from Denver. fantastic shit. musically on par with harrowed. vocalist has great range. hits both high and low hardcore style screams well and throws in some black metal and lower more guttural death metal also. lyrically could use a little work. kind of falls into the clichéd angry hardcore guy at times but i can give it a pass. also the albums rounded out by weekend nachos, minor threat, and zao covers. now i love zao. have for almost 20 years. and it just so happens that these guys tackled my favorite zao song, "5 year winter", so much so my favorite zao song that i have a lyric from it tattooed on my forearm. and screwing that song up not only could have made me not like this but could have ended these guys up on my forever banned list. and while its not as powerful as the original, it is very well done and gets my stamp of approval.
